Biography

Nghia Dang is a Saigon-based artist born in 1994, Hanoi, Vietnam. He has received the Bachelor of Art in Multi-Disciplinary Studio Practices from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Dang’s practice is heavily influenced by Jungian and Lacanian psychological concepts, in which he explores themes regarding the self and its interactions with the “others”, as well as concepts of family and dichotomies between violence and healing, power and submission, consciousness and passions, alienation and intimacy.
