Biography

Arlette Quynh-Anh Tran was born in Germany, and then was raised up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. From 2006 to 2007 she was hired to be assistant curator for 2 prominent curators / artist Rirkrit Tiravanija and Gridthiya Gaweewong in Saigon Open City project, the first attempt to realize a big-scaled manifestation of contemporary art in Vietnam. Following by a period contributing routinely in administrating field in multiple projects in Southeast Asia and Europe, Arlette then moved to Berlin to study history of art and philosophy.

From February 2013, Arlette returned to Vietnam, working for San Art to help developing local contemporary art scene.

Arlette has contributed her researches, writings and thoughts to various local and international publications, exhibitions and projects, such as 2084 (2012) – video episode by sociologist Pelin Tan and artist Anton Vidokle; Digitizing the Archival Materials of Blue Space Contemporary Arts Centre, for Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong; 1. Arlette is Curator/Director of Post Vidai Collection, and also part of Art Labor, an artist and scientist collective in Saigon.
