‘Blink’, making the statement, claiming the space and showcasing the talent. This is the inaugural exhibition at San Art and its new premises in Binh Thanh District. It is a group exhibition by nine young contemporary Vietnamese artists that celebrates San Art as an artist-run independent gallery space and reading room dedicated to the contemporary art of Vietnam, seeking ways in which to increase dialogue and exchange between local and international audiences and practitioners. Featuring artists predominantly from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, this small selection of work ranges from painting, photography, performance, and works on paper, illustrating the emerging voices of Vietnam’s youngest generation of practicing artists. Whether it is the search for a visual language beyond the consumer art-object or questioning ideas of what is natural in a digital world that is full of copies – this small group of eager experimenters chase the experience of the everyday as inspiration.
