Artist studios of 3 artist-in-residence Trần Xuân Anh, Nguyễn Hữu Trâm Kha and Ngô Đình Bảo Châu, and New Yorker writer – artist Christopher Myers are opened to public audiences. This is the last Open Studio before the artists exhibit the final show as result of their 6-month residency at San Art Laboratory. So you will have a chance to see the process experimenting ideas into physical artworks. Bảo Châu examines the contrasts among forms, materials and sculptural practices. Xuân Anh confronts Vietnamese norms of art and craft, while Trầm Kha merges printmaking, drawing and sewing techniques with personal history. Besides, Christopher Myers will show designs for traditional Indonesian style shadow puppets telling the dramatic journals of father of modern dance.
