Biography

Trieu Hai Anh (1991*) is a Vietnamese German filmmaker based in Berlin. Trieu studied social anthropology in Marburg and was researching in ethnographic documentaries before she became a filmmaker. Her last collaboration with artist Natasha A. Kelly, Henning Fehr and Philipp Rühr Milis Awakening (2018), a film that accumulates voices of Afro German women artists, was shown at the Berlin Biennale 2018 and won the the prize of best documentary feature at the Black Laurel Film Festival in San Francisco.

At the moment she is working on a immersive installation piece “Everybody Has Their Own Agenda” where she works on the intersection of film and video art. She explores the social architecture of collective viewing experiences in different spaces. This work is a film screening which is transferred into the medium of an immersive installation. For this piece she collaborates with music duo Nguyễn + Transitory, author and theater maker Tucké Royale and Olivia Wenzel.
