ABOUT
A. Farm, a collaborative residency between Nguyen Art Foundation, MoT+++, and Sàn Art, is now open to applications. A converted factory, with 6 large studios, a spacious gallery and a sunlit courtyard, A. Farm would like to encourage every artist of any age and any career stage to examine how this platform might benefit their artistic practices. Apply now for the 1st residency Season from December 2018 to May 2019!
2 Vietnamese artists and 1 Southeast Asian artist will be offered production funds (US$850), travel funds (as reimbursement up to US$220)*, a stipend (up to US$180/month), living quarters and large studio, with communal kitchen and other shared facilities for a dedicated period of 5 months. Within the residency period, artists are expected to lead a public workshop/presentation alongside producing a new body of work. All artists will be linked to a talking partner – who may be an artist, writer, or curator – in order to generate critical dialogue and assist with artistic production.
A. Farm also accepts domestic and international applications for a negotiable time and at a fee of US$500/month.

FAQ
I’m not sure if I am an artist, can I apply?
YES PLEASE. Please follow the application procedure and let us hear from you! A. Farm also welcomes curators, researchers, writers and other creatives or academics as we always look to expand the dialogues between our residents. Please inquire via a.farm.saigon@gmail.com
I cannot commit for 5 months, can I apply for a shorter period?
All funded artists (Vietnamese and Southeast Asia) are required to stay and work at A. Farm for the stated duration of the residency. If your time cannot accommodate the entire period, you are welcomed to apply for the time-flexible residency; please note that there will be a residency fee of US$500/month for this.
I am from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), can I apply? If yes can I stay at home and just come to work in the studio at A. Farm?
YES please, do apply if you are based in Saigon. One important aspect of a residency is the sense of community, achievable when all resident artists are present. As A. Farm welcomes a dynamic range of interdisciplinary practitioners, you will benefit from being there and participate in the activities available. We will prioritize artists who would like to take full advantage of A. Farm facilities and community.
What is a talking partner? How do I benefit from one?
A talking partner is NOT a coach, nor a tutor, nor a supervisor, but rather one who would provide you with a listening ear and would be able to provide you constructive/critical feedback and/or references to assist with your artistic process. You could take advantage of our team’s diverse expertise (ask us!), or nominate your own talking partner, or our team could recommend you a suitable talking partner for your residency.
